TOP 9 Things ANY Biz Women Worth Her Salt Should Carry In Her Bag

1. Pen. No brainier eh? I’ve been to countless meetings where I was ready to sign “their” contract only to have them say they have no pen. This is a horrible way to start off a biz relationship and makes you look unprepared and amateur.

2. Your updated calendar. Once someone takes the time to meet- be ready to schedule the start of the project, conference call or your next meeting. Saying, I need to get back to the office and look at my calendar again makes you look “brand new”

3. This updated calendar and ALL of your contacts should be on your Smart phone. Your Smart Phone should hold your phone book, Internet, maps, take photos, videos, upload to social media, and have google. They’re too affordable now to not have. If you’re trying to convince someone that you’re up on technology and you pull out a flip phone- you lose all credibility.

4. Project notebook. Keep ONE notebook that you write all your ideas down in, notes, etc and keep it on you at all times- some of my best ideas have come in the car or a few spare minutes in between meetings.

5. Headphones. Having a rough day? Need some quick motivation? Pop on some Lil Wayne, Wale, Joyce Meyers something energizing that makes you feel unstoppable and FREAKIN Colossal !

6. iPad, netbook or Mac Air. Again, a no brainer eh? All professionals that need to show portfolios, examples or presentations should invest in a sleek portable device that they can whip out at the table. If a potential client can see and feel something- they’re more likely to buy.

7. Pair of flats in your bag. Ladies, I understand. I’m a heels girl- if it’s not 5 inches I don’t wantem. BUT- ” Women who chose to wear 5 inch heels are not given a pass by men and are seen incompetent if they complain of foot pain”. In business, come prepared to work- ALL DAY if need be.

8. Hand lotion, mints and extra pantyhose. This be more of a man problem, but on occasion I’ve seen a woman come to a meeting “undone” make sure you’re sufficiently moisterised. And PLEASE keep some mints on you. Most people won’t admit it to you but bad breath, ashy hands and ripped pantyhose can break someone’s concentration and shorten your meeting.

9. Miscellaneous items including phone & computer chargers, the book you’ve been trying to finish, a pair of evening earrings, a clutch and an umbrella. You never know when I meeting will turn into a dinner then a after hours event.

Remember dollars a cents discussed during the day- Biz Women rap about millions between 9pm – 2am 😉
